【大紀元2012年03月23日訊】（大紀元記者劉美蘭台灣雲林報導）台灣毛巾品質世界第一，但你知道全台毛巾產業集中地就在雲林縣的虎尾鎮嗎？而當地有個安溪社區，這裡的居民幾乎都是從事毛巾相關產業，如今此地的社區發展協會更將地方特色產業與社區營造加以結合，有的人捐地有的人出力，還將自家庭院的花卉盆栽捐出移做公共造景用。在3/23當天特舉行「安溪社區入口處綠美化案落成典禮」，期盼產業與地方共創繁榮。
安溪社區發展協會理事長吳長興表示，這個入口地標是以東區.南區.西區.北區詞意對聯義涵作為創作社區綠美化的構圖；東山元陽節能復自然、南旺亨順減碳育桑梓、西豐利益節約永共心、北位貞固能源蔭子孫。而蒜頭、玉米、花生、毛巾、真柏樹則代表當地特色產業。為響應節能減碳與節約能源，就將家中不要的舊木材家具、廢輪胎拿來做建材，連當地毛巾工廠的廢棄物品也可以拿來當椅子使用，且每一樹一磚皆由村民親自動手施工而成的。他說，社區若可以跟地方觀光產業緊密結合，相信安溪社區絕對可以開擴出不同的風貌。
